What is a base curve?

The base curve refers to the curvature (curvature) of a contact lens.
The reason that the base curve of commercially available lenses is divided into 8.4 and 8.6 is because the shape of the cornea differs slightly from person to person. And because of this difference, when classifying contact lenses, they are classified according to this base curve.
For example, the corneas of Asians and Westerners are different. In the case of Asians, the cornea is a little more convex (the eye size is small), and in the case of the West, the cornea is flat (the eye size is large).
The base curve varies according to the degree of flatness and convexity of the central part of the cornea, and contact lenses should be worn in consideration of the base curve.

What if the base curve doesn't fit my eyes?
