Base Curve 8.6
What is a base curve?
The base curve refers to the curvature (curvature) of a contact lens.
The reason that the base curve of commercially available lenses is divided into 8.4 and 8.6 is because the shape of the cornea differs slightly from person to person. And because of this difference, when classifying contact lenses, they are classified according to this base curve.
For example, the corneas of Asians and Westerners are different. In the case of Asians, the cornea is a little more convex (the eye size is small), and in the case of the West, the cornea is flat (the eye size is large).
The base curve varies according to the degree of flatness and convexity of the central part of the cornea, and contact lenses should be worn in consideration of the base curve.
What if the base curve doesn't fit my eyes?
Because the shape of the human cornea is slightly different, shouldn't it be wrong to use ready-made contact lenses sold in the general market? However, in the case of the base curve, there is a slight difference between each person, but there is no big difference.
However, various types of lenses are produced with average values based on the large deviations among these minute differences.
However, even if this is the case, if you wear a contact lens whose base curve does not match your eyes, the effect of correcting your vision is not great and it may be uncomfortable to wear. Lurube recommend you can.
